WELCOME TO OUR CLUB
The St Andrews Tennis Club proudly re-opened for play in December 2025 after several years of closure during the construction of Brighton Grammar School’s Duigan Centre. The Centre still stands on the original site of the Tennis Club on St Andrews Street, Brighton, but situated two storeys above which makes it the most unique community-based tennis club in Australia. Early in 2025, Brighton Grammar approached the Club with a proposal to re-establish the Club with a combined community-spirited partnership - one aligned with the School’s long-standing and highly successful local engagement initiatives and reflecting the same values as St Andrews Tennis Club. To enhance this collaboration, Brighton Grammar invited the Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club to bring its expertise in state-of-the-art tennis coaching to St Andrews with all coaching based at the St Andrews facility. The result is an exceptional partnership between three historic institutions: St Andrews Tennis Club (established 1911), Brighton Grammar School (established 1882), and Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club (established 1884). This innovative alliance represents one of the most exciting partnerships in community service for any tennis club. Special thanks to Brighton Grammar School for the foresight and imagination to bring our three entities together. Matched with its glass-fronted pavilion, the club offers city views from the outdoor entertainment area, three brand-new Policlay courts, and the latest-generation LED lighting. Access is safe and convenient via both an elevator and stairwell, complemented by a modern, high-tech security system. We are a family and community oriented tennis club, complemented by a full range of cardio tennis, professional tennis coaching, school-holiday programs, and junior development opportunities. But most importantly we are set up for social tennis. Want to join? Visit our Membership page. |
