ABOUT USOur Tennis Club, founded in 1911, is located in St Andrew's Street, flanked by St Andrew's Church buildings and neighbouring Brighton Grammar School.
In 2005 the courts were converted to policlay surface, a synthetic matting topped with ceramic sand. Policlay plays like en-tous-cas, however, it is low maintenance and requires no watering. All three courts have lights. Coaching programs cater to most age groups and enquiries can be directed to coach Gerard Douglas, Club Coach and Centre Manager. Night tennis is popular and intra-club competitions are played on Monday and Wednesday evenings. There is a Mixed Doubles Senior team in the Bayside Tennis Association, and a range of Junior teams in the Moorabbin and District Association on a Saturday morning and in the Bayside Tennis Association on a Sunday morning. A ladies intra-club competition is played on a Tuesday morning. The courts are not available on Holy days such as Good Friday, Christmas Day or Sunday mornings during church services. A schedule for the availability of the courts is available on the Home page and also at the clubhouse. Club memberships number approximately 180, and vary from associate (weekdays only) to single, junior and family. As of 2015/2016, annual fees range from $150.00 to $330.00 per year and our joining fee ranges from $75.00 to $165.00. |
