ABOUT USThe St Andrews Tennis Club was founded in 1911 by the Church’s (then) Reverend Audrey of the St Andrews Parish Church. It is the oldest continuous running Parish Tennis Club in Victoria, if not Australia. The Club is and has been a proud member of the greater St Andrews Church family community for all of its 100 plus year history. The close bond between Church and Club continues today.
The new St Andrews Tennis Club opens in January 2025. It has 3 Policlay courts that reside under the latest directional beam lighting for night tennis. The glass cased pavilion has an outdoor entertainment area with a bay view. The Club stands two levels above ground level making the facility unique, and possibly the only tennis club located at this height. Access is by way of an elevator and stairs. The Club features a hi-tech security system making it safe for families. St Andrews Tennis Club is located in St Andrew's Street, flanked by St Andrew's Church buildings and neighbouring with and on top of the Brighton Grammar School St Andrews Street campus. The Club is a community and family based club and provides a wide range of opportunities for coaching and competitions for most age groups, as well as being available for friends and families who like to play social tennis and we pride ourselves on being a family and community friendly Tennis Club offering very reasonable membership fees. We have a strong Committee of dedicated individuals who have worked tirelessly to this create the new tennis facility as well work in the best interests of our members. The committee consists of: Stefen Kourkoulis Benjamin Le Couteur Murray Evely Gerard Douglas Susie Douglas Michael Tsouroutis Gary McCloud Quick Background Due to Brighton Grammar School building their latest 21st century school wing, the Club had to move to shared facilities with Brighton North Tennis Club during 2023-24. We extend our sincere thanks to North Brighton Tennis Club and the Club Committee for accommodating us during this period. Programs We run several intra-club activities for mixed competition on Monday and Wednesday nights. These have run for many years and proven to be extremely popular and new members are most welcome to join any of the slots. Learn more about these competitions by clicking here. We also run junior inter-club competitions playing against other clubs in the Moorabbin and District Association on Saturday mornings. For any enquiries please follow this link.
